OUTSTANDING GOOD TASTE SITES

The famous “Outstanding Good Taste Site” concept is the result of four French ministries, in charge of culture, tourism, the environment and agriculture, who created the concept in 1995, identifying 100 distinctive sites which have:

- a food product that is strongly emblematic of the area, with a story and a history, - exceptional environmental and architectural heritage;
- reception space which enables them to welcome the public and explain the connections between the food product, the cultural heritage, the countryside and the people involved.
The Gard is proud of its three “Outstanding Good Taste Sites”: the meadows and marshes at La Tour Carbonnière with the AOP Bull from Camargue; the Aigoual terraced fields, with AOP sweet onions from the Cévennes and the olive groves with the AOP olives Pays de Nîmes.
