The Féria
Of Spanish origin, the word féria means "party". This tradition has been part of the Gard’s cultural heritage for many years.
In May 2002, the town of Nîmes celebrated its 50th féria anniversary.
Fifty years gone by that the town sports its bullfighting costume and transforms into a whirlwind party atmosphere; initially for the Primavera, followed by Whitsuntide and finally mid September for the grape harvest.
In addition to being a horse and bull festival, les ferias are also festivals of music, dance and wine.
Inimitable and unrecountable, une Féria has to be lived ! That’s why we don’t want to go into more detail.
In any case in Nîmes, we keep our promises !
