Rhône Valley, a world waiting to be discovered
If the vine is inextricably linked to the region's riches, the river is an essential part of its history.
Apart from times of war, relations between the two banks of the Rhône were highly active, whether commercial or cultural.
Thus Beaucaire, which since earliest times has been the staring-place for different horizons (such as Spain via the Via Domitia or Rome via the East) became a sought-after meeting place in the middle Ages and until the 18th century, for the fairs held there. A number of handsome buildings evoke for us that fruitful epoch, celebrated during the Estivales (summer festival) in July.
