Housed in a former Jesuit school from the 17th century, which it shares with the Archaeology museum, the Museum of Nîmes is 6th in France for the treasures of its collections.
Three major subject themes are displayed:
- Prehistory, with one of the best French collections of statues-menhirs,
- Ethnography, or the magic of meeting other cultures,
- Zoology, with a most impressive Siberian Tiger.
