The bonsai arboretum garden and its miniature animal sheepfold

Walk, idleness and freshness

We pass by the Abarines bridge where we have a beautiful view of the valley and we choose this pretty natural setting to settle by the water.
After an improvised picnic by the river, we took advantage of the lake to bathe in the hottest hours.
The children enjoyed playing with each other, swimming, picking up stones and observing some frogs ... A moment in all simplicity that allowed us to recharge our batteries with the family.

Around 4 p.m., we decide to pack our things and continue this tourist moment to discover other places.
When we arrived, we saw signs on the road indicating the "Jardin arboretum de bonsaï". It would be a great discovery and that says garden, says shaded space!

We discover a calm and shaded place, with Asian airs.
It is a visit that is worth the detour, there we find a rare collection of bonsai, magnificent Japanese themed gardens and a farm of miniature animals!
If you are lucky enough to have a guided tour, you will discover the little secrets to obtain robust, harmonious bonsai and diversify the species.
Indeed, Patrice Bongrand, a well-known European bonsaillist, is a passionate who will make you travel in the world of bonsai and his creations of Japanese gardens where everyone has a story and anecdotes!

The tour ends with the miniature animal farm, where the children have had the pleasure of petting each of them!
Goats, horses, sheep, pigs, zebus, oxen etc, all are miniature in size, which adds charm for children and one also for older children, we must admit!
Again, the owner is very attentive to these animals, each with a first name to which he responds!
A real meeting between man and animal, to live in a miniature but intense way ...

So it was a great discovery for the whole family!
For enthusiasts, Patrice Bongrand organizes bonsai courses, but also courses in raku ceramics and stoneware.

The garden and its farm are open during the summer period from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
For openings out of season or for more information, you can consult the website of the Jardin arboretum de bonsaï.

Practical information :
To choose its river corner, pay attention to private properties.
Often the first banks are very popular, try to move away to find a quiet corner.
The ideal time of arrival is between 10:30 am and 11:00 am (first arrival, better placed).
