Roman TOUR MAGNE

The Tour Magne is the largest tower in the Roman Nîmes enclosure.

The Magne Tower, that is to say the Great Tower, is the only vestige of the ancient Augustan enclosure.

It stands on the highest point of the city, Mont Cavalier, dominates the whole plain and draws the means of communication towards it.

Although reduced to one floor, the Magne tower, the main building of the Augustan enclosure (15-16 BC), allows from the height of its 33 meters, accessible by an internal staircase, the most beautiful view of Nîmes and its surroundings.

In accordance with government directives, the Arènes de Nîmes, the Maison Carrée and the Tour Magne remain closed until further notice .

January, February, November and December: 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. / 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
March and October: 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. / 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
April, May and September: 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (closed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in September)
June: 9 am-7pm

July and August: 9 am-8pm
